I have a problem in the locality where I stay? It is our own house and I have a neighbour on lease tenancy?

In fact this house out let sewage water flows on road and emits bad smell .formerly there was a pipe line connecting to the gutter line, some how or other it got blocked due to the reason that it broke and the water started flowing on the roads.We have requested many a times to repair this they keep a deaf ear,this people now stays very happily since the water never flows infront of their house.What source of legality I have to take to solve this problem? I do not want to pick up a quarrel and create a scene also. Under this state of affair what i can do? please help me to solve this problem through law? Please advice me step by step action and follow ups? to resort to the real problem solving method.I am sure that some of the citizens of this place Bangalore can do definitely a solution to this public nuisance created by my neighbour See going to conciller as suggested by you does not work .i need step by step explanatiobn on your point pl.

  1. contact your local council. If the water is flowing onto the pavement or road the highways department will have to come out and have a look at it. Also if it is causing a problem with smell then contact the environmental health department. That way they will speak to your neighbour about fixing the problem and they need never know it was you who called. Also if the property next door is rented accomodation, try contacting the landlord or the management company that looks after it. They are responsible for repairing this sort of thing rather than the tennant
  2. Take them to cort for public nusence. I dont think talking to them directly will be of any help
  3. call in enviromental health
